SPRINGFIELD, Mo. – Valor Volleyball hits the road on Friday and Saturday (Aug. 29/30), competing in the Texas Two-Step, hosted by Texas Wesleyan and Nelson.
The Valor will take on Huston Tillotson and (RV) Texas Wesleyan on Friday in Fort Worth, before closing out the tournament with matches against Louisiana Christian and #21 Nelson in Waxahachie on Saturday.
OPENING STORYLINES

Evangel went 4-0 last week at the William Woods Classic, losing just one set the entire weekend.

The Valor are currently led offensively by Bella Wakley and Cienna Turner, who have 35 and 32 kills on the season, respectively. Wakley also leads Evangel in service aces, currently with seven this season.

The duo of Jessica Pritchett and Brooklyn Claxton has helped the Evangel offense click, as Pritchett currently leads the team with 61 assists, while Claxton has 58.

Defensively, Vivianna Sanchez hasn't missed a beat, currently with a team high 19 blocks, averaging 1.46 per set.

Kenna Wise has been everywhere for Evangel, leading the team with 72 digs so far this season (5.54 per set).

Evangel leads the series all time against Nelson (4-1), Texas Wesleyan (3-2), and Huston Tillotson (4-0), but will match up with Louisiana Christian for the first time in program history on Saturday.
LOOKING AHEAD
Valor Volleyball will travel to Point Lookout to take on long-time rival College of the Ozarks on Wednesday (Sept. 3) evening at 6:00 p.m.
