SPRINGFIELD, Mo. – Evangel Baseball played host to the 14th ranked Oklahoma Wesleyan Eagles on Tuesday (Apr. 8) afternoon, looking to pull off an upset win against the nationally ranked squad.
The Valor could not slow the OKWU offense and scored just three runs on Tuesday, falling 14-3 in seven innings.
HOW IT HAPPENED

Oklahoma Wesleyan jumped out to an early 4-0 lead over Evangel, heading into the bottom of the second inning.

Matthew Olson singled in the second inning, coming across to score on a Evan Baptiste single to make the EU deficit three runs, 4-1.

OKWU scored five runs in the top of the fourth inning to take a 9-1 lead over EU.

In the bottom of the fourth, Olson worked a walk and scored on a Baptiste single, scoring EU's second run of the afternoon and making it a 9-2 game.

The Eagles scored four runs in the top of the fifth and a run to open the seventh to lead 14-2 over the Valor.

Evangel added a final run in the bottom of the seventh when Kai Strasser worked a walk and scored on a Clay Palen triple, finalizing Evangel's 14-3 loss on Tuesday.
