BARTLESVILLE, Okla. – Evangel Baseball hit the road on Tuesday (Apr. 15) afternoon, taking on the 14th ranked Oklahoma Wesleyan Eagles in their series finale in Oklahoma.
The Valor took an early lead over the Eagles, but could not keep pace with Oklahoma Wesleyan's offense in the mid and late innings, falling 17-4 on Tuesday.
HOW IT HAPPENED

Evangel got on the board early on Tuesday, using singles from Evan Baptiste, Heath Perry, and Clay Palen to score Baptiste and put EU ahead, 1-0.

In the second inning, Kai Strasser hit his first home run of the season to double EU's lead, 2-0.

OKWU tied the game up in the bottom of the second inning, 2-2.

The Valor matched Oklahoma Wesleyan's scoring in the top of the third inning when a pair of sacrifices scored Quentin Edwards and Palen, who had walked and singled to get on base, respectively.

After taking a 4-2 lead in the third, Evangel's offense struggled the remainder of the game.Â

Oklahoma Wesleyan scored six runs in the bottom of the third, seven runs in the bottom of the fifth, and a pair of runs in the bottom of the sixth to take a 17-4 win over Evangel.
