The Valor dominated on Tuesday, earning a pair of run rule wins in just an hour and 41 minutes of combined play time, 10-0 and 8-0, respectively.

NOTABLE

  • Maddy Meierer moved to 9-1 on Tuesday with the win in game two, lowering her season ERA to 0.37.

  • Sarah Wilkinson had an efficient game one, throwing just 28 pitches in the five inning win, moving to 2-1 on the year.

  • Karlie Romines had a strong day on offense, finishing with four RBIs and four runs scored for the Valor.

HOW IT HAPPENED

  • Evangel scored in every inning in game one. Kenna Mayfield singled to left center to open the game and scored on a Naomi Perkins single to put EU ahead, 1-0. A Karlie Romines double scored Perkins and Romines came around to score on a Riley Johannes groundout, extending the EU lead to 3-0.

  • Sarah Wilkinson pitched back-to-back three pitch innings in the 2nd and 3rd, while EU scored runs in both innings, using a Camryn Casey double and Mayfield single to give the Valor a 4-0 lead. Ellie Facklam singled to open the third inning and scored on a Romines double before the catcher scored on a Karli Facklam single. K. Facklam scored on a Lauren Dill sacrifice fly, giving EU a 7-0 lead.

  • In the fourth inning, Mayfield was hit by a pitch and E. Facklam singled to get on base. A Reagan Jenkins single scored Mayfield, while a Kristyn Ramos fielders choice scored E. Facklam. Autumn Nold laced a single on the left field foul line to score Johannes, who was hit by a pitch to get on base, making it a 10-0 Evangel lead.

  • Wilkinson recorded the last two outs of the fifth en route to EU's 10-0 game one victory.

  • The Valor offense scored a pair of runs in the first inning of game two, taking advantage of a Southwestern error to take a 2-0 lead.

  • Maddy Meierer limited the Moundbuilder offense, allowing just two hits and striking out nine batters to keep Southwestern off the scoreboard.

  • Despite not scoring in the second or third inning, Evangel racked off six runs in the fourth to take an 8-0 lead. An error allowed K. Facklam to reach base, while Casey tripled to score Facklam. A Dill double scored Casey, followed by a Danielle Cutbirth double and Mayfield sacrifice fly to score Dill. E. Facklam hit a triple and Romines hit a home run to end EU's scoring, solidifying Evangel's 8-0 win.
