WICHITA, Kan. -- After a nine day break, Valor Women's Basketball returned to action on Saturday (Nov. 15) afternoon, opening KCAC conference play with a road matchup against (RV) Friends. The Valor would outscore the Falcons in every quarter on Saturday, taking their first ever win in Wichita, 95-88.

Heaven Shockley led Evangel in the first quarter, scoring 11 points to pace scoring for the Valor. A basket by Shockley gave EU the lead, 5-4, and Evangel answered nearly every Friends basket with one of their own, taking a 23-22 lead over the Falcons.

Leading 29-28, Brooklyn Kearbey would hit back to back three pointers, before a Ali Kamies three extending the Valor lead to 38-30. A 9-0 run by Friends would give the home team the lead over EU, but Lydia Babirye hit a three to quell the Friends run. With 1:11 remaining in the half, the Falcons hit a three to take the lead, but Carson Dillard nailed a tray of her own to tie EU a 48-47 halftime lead.

Each team traded baskets to open the second half and ultimately, a 10-0 Evangel run would push the Valor to a 70-59 lead with 2:14 remaining in the third quarter. The Falcons drew back within five points of the Valor lead, but EU led 74-69, heading into the final quarter of play.

With 3:43 remaining in the contest and Evangel leading 85-82, the Valor hit several free throws to extend their lead before Carson Dillard nailed a dagger three pointer, giving EU a 93-83 lead that they held to the end, 95-88.
