LINDSBORG, Kan. – Valor Women's Soccer returned to action on Saturday (Oct. 4) evening, taking on the Bethany College Swedes in Lindsborg, Kansas. Looking to escape their scoring drought, Evangel's offense exploded on Saturday, scoring eight goals in a shutout victory on the road, 8-0.

Makayla Myers scored a pair of goals in the first 15 minutes of play, giving Evangel an early 2-0 lead. At the 18:36 mark, Charlae Cowan netted the third goal of the game, extending the EU lead. Emma Budimlya scored Evangel's final goal of the first half, as EU led 4-0 at the halftime break.

Evangel's defense made sure that Bethany's offense could not score in the second half. Sarah Wilkins scored in the first 1:25 of the second half to give EU a 5-0 lead before Anna Crain netted a penalty shot for a score at the 66:13 mark. Rylie Kidman added a score just minutes later and Makayla Myers capped off her night with her first career hat trick, as EU took an 8-0 victory on the road in dominant fashion.

"Tonight the ladies created a lot of quality chances and scored a number of brilliant goals. We focused on stifling their attack and eliminating the corner kicks that we have given up over the past several games. We only allowed one shot in the match and no corner kicks," Women's Soccer Head Coach Bruce Deaton stated. "I am very pleased with how we defended as a team. Six different players scored tonight so that was awesome and Makayla Myers was awesome with the hat trick. We weren't perfect in our play but we put some amazing minutes and brilliant goals together this evening. What a great win for the ladies!"
