Evangel Women's Soccer Hosts Saint Mary for Final Regular Season Home Match

SPRINGFIELD, Mo. – Evangel Women's Soccer hosts the Saint Mary Spires on Wednesday (Oct. 29) evening at 5:00 p.m., looking to take a pivotal game to remain in contention to host a quarterfinal matchup.

OPENING STORYLINES 

  • The Valor defeated Bethel on Saturday, 2-0, earning another three points to the conference standings.

  • Evangel is led offensively by freshman Amaura Austell, who has scored a team high eight goals so far this season.

  • Makayla Myers leads the team with five assists so far this year.

  • Currently, Evangel is fifth in the conference standings, while Saint Mary is sixth overall. Only eight teams make the conference tournament and the top four host a quarterfinal match.

  • Evangel will match up with Saint Mary for the sixth time in program history, earning a 3-1 win at home last season, with McKenzie Calhoun scoring a pair of goals and Makayla Myers also scoring.

LOOKING AHEAD

Evangel takes on the Tabor College Bluejays at 5:00 p.m. in Hillsboro, Kan., for their final game of the regular season.
