SPRINGFIELD, Mo. – Evangel Women's Soccer concluded their 2026 regular season on Saturday (Oct. 31) afternoon, taking on the Tabor College Bluejays. Needing a win to advance to the KCAC Conference Tournament, Evangel was unable to score against the Bluejays, falling 1-0 in their final game of the season.
Tabor opened Saturday's contest up with a shot on goal early, but Evangel matched the shot with three consecutive shots. The Bluejays controlled the offensive pace midway through the first half, but again, Evangel would record a shot on goal, this time from Adrian Bloomquist at the 35:40 mark. The Valor attempted to take advantage of a Emily Farrenkopf corner, but could not find a foot on the ball, leading to a 0-0 halftime break.
Lili Thiessen, Makayla Myers, and Rylie Kidman all put shots on goal to open the second half, but the Tabor goalkeeper denied each attempt, keeping EU scoreless. At the 58:36 mark, Tabor scored their first goal of the day, taking advantage of a corner kick to lead 1-0. Evangel's offense put pressure on Tabor's defense late in the second half, as Dekeria Carter and Thiessen put shots on goal, but EU could not break through, ultimately falling in full time, 1-0.

QUOTABLE
"We talked prior to the match that it is always exciting to be in the position to control your destiny at this point of the season. While we played a very good match overall and at the level to potentially claim one of the final tournament spots, we weren't able to find the back of the net today and conceded a goal off of a set piece (one of our challenges this season)," Women's Soccer Head Coach Bruce Deaton stated. "I am so proud of the play of the team this season and am grateful to our six seniors for all they have contributed to this program. This team has played some very good football all season and especially these past several weeks. There is a lot to continue to look forward to with this team!!"
