WICHITA, Kan. – Valor Men's Soccer returned to action on Wednesday (Oct. 22) evening, taking on the Friends Falcons, looking to bounce back after falling in a tough road matchup with Sterling last weekend.
Evangel scored early again on Wednesday, as Hayes Van Breusegen added his sixth goal of the season on a long pass from Cadu Alves, giving the Valor a 1-0 lead. The Falcons would use the remaining 38 minutes of play to record several shots on goal, but Davide Marzoli and the Evangel defense denied every attempt in the first half, taking a 1-0 lead into the halftime break.
The Valor were able to keep the defensive pressure on Friends, as the Falcons were only able to register three shots on goal in the entirety of the game. Davide Marzoli came away with his final save of the evening at the 73:23 mark, and Evangel's defense shut down the Falcons, taking a 1-0 win over the home team in a strong overall team effort.
