STERLING, Kan. – Valor Women's Soccer hit the road on Friday (Oct. 17) afternoon to take on the Sterling College Warriors in Kansas. Evangel took care of business on Friday, dominating from start to finish en route to a 4-0 shutout victory.

Evangel got on the board early in Friday's contest, scoring their first goal at the 7:06 mark when Amaura Austell scored on a pass from Makayla Myers. McKenzie Calhoun scored just minutes later to double the EU lead to 2-0. Evangel kept their offensive pressure on Sterling throughout the remainder of the first half, keeping a 2-0 lead at the halftime break.

The Valor opened the second half with several shots on goal, but did not score in the first few minutes of play. Rylee Clapp booted the ball all the way down the field to Makayla Myers, who scored to extend Evangel's lead to 3-0. Just seven minutes later, Calhoun added her second goal of the match on a pass from Myers to give EU their 4-0 lead that they held to the end, not allowing Sterling much of anything offensively.

HIGHLIGHTS

QUOTABLE

"Another excellent showing by the ladies again today! Especially after a quick turnaround from Wednesday. We controlled the match from whistle to whistle and created so many chances throughout the match. We played according to what we felt gave us the best opportunity to score and the ladies executed so well," Women's Soccer Head Coach Bruce Deaton stated. "This win helps continue to position us towards the post season so the three points today were critical in that effort. Well done ladies, well done!"
