WICHITA, Kan. — The KCAC announced the men's basketball preseason coaches and media poll on Thursday afternoon. Evangel was picked to finish sixth overall in both the coaches and media poll, entering the 2025-26 season.
Evangel earned 105 points in the coaches poll voting, finishing in sixth, ahead of McPherson (81), Avila (78), Kansas Wesleyan (73) and several other KCAC schools. Oklahoma Wesleyan led the coaches poll with 162 total points, earning seven first place votes. Friends placed second with 156 total points and six first place votes. Tied for third was Bethel and Saint Mary, but Bethel edged out USM, earning the final first place vote (139).
In the Media Poll, Evangel earned 100 points, again finishing sixth. OKWU again led the charge, earning 159 total points and six first place votes. Friends was picked second with 158 total points and five first place votes, while Saint Mary earned the final first place vote and 137 overall points. Southwestern (126) and Bethel (122) rounded out top five selections in the media poll.
Evangel's 2025-26 season opens up at AGFinancial Arena on Monday, October 27th against Central Christian College of the Bible at 7:00 p.m.
