WICHITA, Kan. — The KCAC announced the women's basketball preseason coaches and media poll on Wednesday morning. Evangel was picked to finish first in the conference in the coaches poll, but third overall in the media poll.
Evangel earned 161 points in the poll voting and nine first place votes, leading the KCAC in the coaches poll. Finishing in second was Friends who received 147 points and two first place votes. Tabor (132 pts.), Saint Mary (123 pts.), and Bethel (118 pts.), rounded out top five voting, but sixth place Kansas Wesleyan and seventh place Sterling earned the final first place votes, earning two and one, respectively.
In the Media Poll, Evangel earned 112 points and three first place votes, picked to finish third. Tabor earned four first place votes in the media poll, being named first with 123 total points. Friends was picked to finish second with 121 total points, but no first place votes. Kansas Wesleyan and Saint Mary rounded out top five finishers with KWU earning 110 points and two first place votes and USM earning 87 points. Southwestern earned the final first place vote in the media poll, but was overall picked to finish 13th in the conference with 31 points.
Evangel's 2025-26 season opens up on Thursday, October 30th, at home in AGFinancial Arena against Crowley's Ridge College at 5:30 p.m. Full results of both polls are listed below.
