SPRINGFIELD, Mo. – After going 3-1 at the Evangel Quad Classic, Valor Volleyball hits the road to compete in their final non-conference tournament of the year, competing in the UHSP Classic on Friday and Saturday (Sept. 13/14) afternoon.
Evangel opens the classic taking on Freed Hardeman tomorrow at 12:30 p.m., followed by a matchup with Cottey College at 2:30 p.m. The Valor open Saturday with a morning matchup against Brescia at 10:30 a.m. and conclude play at 2:30 p.m. against Missouri Baptist, who were receiving votes in the previous national poll.
OPENING STORYLINES

Graduate transfer Loran Pritchett leads the Valor in kills so far this season, currently with 143. Pritchett was recently named the KCAC Offensive Player of the Week after racking up 65 total kills last week.

Sophomore Jessica Pritchett leads Evangel in assists, currently with 130. Mayci Routh sits just one assist behind Pritchett with 129.

Junior Vivianna Sanchez leads the team with 40 blocks so far this year, currently averaging 1.25 per set.

Junior Kenna Wise has continued to be strong defensively, currently with 179 total digs to lead the team, averaging 5.59 per set.

Bella Wakley and Loran Pritchett both lead the Valor with 16 service aces so far this year.

In the all-time matchup, Evangel leads Cottey and Brescia, 11-2 and 1-0, respectively, but trails Missouri Baptist, 8-16. Evangel and Freed-Hardeman will match up for the first time in program history on Friday.
LOOKING AHEAD
The Valor will hit the road to take on Hannibal-LaGrange next Tuesday (Sept. 17) evening at 6:00 p.m.
