SPRINGFIELD, Mo. – After opening the season with a pair of wins, the Valor Volleyball team heads just south of Springfield to take part in the College of the Ozarks Labor Day Classic on Friday and Saturday (Aug. 30/31)
The Valor will take on host College of the Ozarks at noon on Friday (Aug. 30), followed by a matchup at 5:00 PM against Mid-America Christian. Saturday opens with a match against USAO at 10:00 AM, while a 2:00 PM match with Mission will wrap up the classic for Evangel.
OPENING STORYLINES

Evangel defeated USAO and Paul Quinn last weekend, sweeping the Tigers while taking a four set battle with USAO in Chickasha.

Graduate transfer Loran Pritchett leads the Valor in kills so far this season, currently with 26.

Freshman Sydney Bryan leads Evangel in assists, racking up 46 in the pair of games last weekend.

Junior Vivianna Sanchez leads the team with eight blocks so far this year, currently averaging 1.14 per set.

Junior Kenna Wise picked up where she left last season off, currently with 43 total digs to lead the team, averaging 6.14 per set.

Evangel takes on College of the Ozarks on Friday in their 111th all-time matchup. The Valor trail all-time against the Bobcats, 46-59-5. The Valor are 3-0 all time against MidAmerica Christian and Mission and 1-0 against USAO, winning their first ever matchup with the Drovers last weekend.
LOOKING AHEAD
The Valor open their home slate on Tuesday (Sept. 3) evening against Stephens College in the Ashcroft Center at 7:00 p.m.
