WINFIELD, Kan. – Valor Baseball hit the road on Friday (Apr. 12) afternoon, opening an eight game road stand and taking on the Southwestern College Moundbuilders for a single nine inning matchup on Friday.

The Valor struggled offensively, as they were unable to generate much offense. Fielding mistakes also hurt Evangel, as the Moundbuilders defeated Evangel, 5-0, in game one of the three game series.

NOTABLE

• Evangel went .156 (5/32) from the plate on Friday.

• Eli Cook led Evangel from the plate, going 2-4 in the loss.

• Evangel committed five errors in the loss.

HOW IT HAPPENED

• Both the Valor and Moundbuilders opened Friday's game with little on offense as it took until the fourth inning for either team to score. Southwestern plated a pair of runs in the inning to take a 2-0 lead.

• The Valor had several opportunities with runners on second and a runner on third, but were unable to get any runners home.

• The Moundbuilders added a pair of runs in the bottom of the fifth and a run in the bottom of the seventh, taking a 5-0 lead, while Evangel left 10 runners on base, falling 5-0 on Friday.
