SPRINGFIELD, Mo. – A big offensive day helped the Evangel softball team sweep the York Panthers, 17-3 in a run rule game one, and 13-5 in game two Saturday afternoon.

Evangel exploded for 14 hits in game one and followed that up with 15 hits in game two. The run rule victory was the fourth this season for the Valor.

NOTABLE
- Saturday's game was originally scheduled to be played in Nebraska so Evangel played as the visitor despite hosting.
- Evangel tallied five extra base hits in game and three in game two.
- Daizie Riggs hit her fourth home run of the season.
- Riley Johannes recorded four RBIs in game two.
- Riggs and Annslee Leeviraphan both finished with three hits in game two.
- Riggs and Kenna Mayfield added three RBIs each in game one.

HOW IT HAPPENED Game 1
- Evangel scored eight runs in the first inning to build an early lead.
- York added a run in the bottom of the inning, but the Valor answered with three more in the second inning.
- Riggs belted a two-run homer in the third inning to push the Evangel lead to 13-1.
- Both teams scored a single run in the fourth inning.
- Evangel put together another rally with Ramos singled home Hale and would score later in the inning on a passed ball.
- Sarah Boyd earned the win going all five innings. She struck out two and walked three for her second win of the season.

HOW IT HAPPENED Game 2
- Leeviraphan opened the scoring with a RBI double to score Mayfield.
- Evangel added two runs in the fifth inning to lead 4-0 before York scored three runs in the bottom of the inning.
- Hale and Mayfield drove home runs in the sixth to extend the lead to 7-3. Johannes picked up two more RBIs with a single and stone scored Ramos on an infield single to put Evangel in front 10-3.
- York added two more runs in the sixth inning on a RBI groundout and a single.
- Leeviraphan picked up her second RBI with a single and Riggs doubled home Leeviraphan and Hale to give Evangel a 13-5 advantage.
- Maddy Meierer struck out four in 2.1 innings of relief. Sarah Wilkinson earned her fourth win of the season throwing 4.2 innings.
