Valor WBB Hits the Road for Saturday Matchup with Avila

SPRINGFIELD, Mo. – Evangel Women's Basketball travels to Kansas City, Missouri, on Saturday (Feb. 10) afternoon, taking on the Avila Eagles in a KCAC conference matchup.

Tip-off for Saturday's game is set for 1:00 p.m. as the Valor continue their string of dominant wins in conference play

SERIES HISTORY

Evangel and Avila match up for just the 59th time in school history, as both teams were Heart of America Conference opponents. The Valor lead the series, 40-18, taking the win earlier this season, 71-63.

OPENING STORYLINES

  • Evangel concludes their road trip on Saturday (Feb. 10) afternoon, taking on the Avila Eagles in Kansas City, Missouri.

  • The Valor dominated on Wednesday night, taking a 77-49 victory over the Bulldogs, their second consecutive double-digit victory.

  • Evangel currently holds a 12-8 record overall and are 10-7 in the KCAC. The Valor currently sit tied for fifth in the conference standings with Bethany and would take on Friends on the road in the conference tournament, if the season ended today.

  • Carson Dillard scored 16 points against McPherson to lead the Valor, with all points coming in the second quarter.

  • Lydia Babirye pulled down a team high 12 rebounds from the guard position on Wednesday.

  • The Valor are fifth in the nation in offensive rebounding, currently averaging 16.9 per game.

  • Evangel will host back to back games next week, taking on Bethany on Wednesday night and finishing with a home game against Sterling next Saturday afternoon.

  • Kamie Jenkins has had a strong season, averaging double digit points and rebounds.

LOOKING AHEAD

Evangel Women's Basketball returns home on Wednesday (Feb. 14) evening, taking on the Bethany Swedes in a 5:30 p.m. conference match in the Ashcroft Center.
