SPRINGFIELD, Mo. – The Evangel women's soccer team hits the road on Tuesday (Nov. 5) afternoon, taking on the third seeded Avila Eagles in the KCAC Conference Tournament Quarterfinals at 1:00 p.m. in Kansas City, Missouri.

OPENING STORYLINES

Evangel Women's Soccer closed their regular season with a 2-0 win over York at home.

The Valor currently hold a 8-6-3 record and earned 23 points in conference play to earn the six seed in the tournament.

Evangel's offense is led by McKenzie Calhoun, who leads the team in goals scored with five, as well as shots with 33 and shots on goal with 19.

Ava Campbell and Grayson Murphy were key facilitators for the Valor in the regular season, both leading the team with four assists.

Makayla Myers, Sophia Weeks, and Dajah Boykin have all helped offensively this year, scoring three goals each.

The Valor defense, led by goalkeeper Rylee Clapp has been strong all year, with Clapp recording 88 saves this year, allowing just 1.43 goals per game.

Evangel recorded eight shutouts in the regular season, the most in a single season in Evangel Women's Soccer history.

Evangel and Avila match up for the seventh time in program history, as the Valor trail all-time, 2-4. EU lost at home to Avila in their conference opener, 2-0, in a much closer game than the final score appears.

With a win, Evangel Women's Soccer will travel to Wichita, Kan., on Friday (Nov. 8) evening, taking on the winner of the #2 Kansas Wesleyan vs #7 York matchup at 7:30 p.m. With a loss, the 2024 Evangel Women's Soccer campaign will come to a close.
