OTTAWA, Kan. – Valor Women's Soccer hit the road for their final regular season road game of the season, taking on the Ottawa Braves and looking to solidify a spot in the upcoming conference tournament with a win or draw. The Valor scored the first goal of the match, but a Braves goal quickly followed to even the score, as Evangel could not put another shot into the back of the net, earning a draw in their contest with Ottawa, 1-1.

Evangel opened Wednesday's game with a flurry of shots in the eighth minute. After a pair were saved by the Ottawa goalkeeper, the Braves keeper couldn't stop the third shot in the flurry, as Sophia Weeks buried the shot on a pass from McKenzie Calhoun to put the Valor ahead, 1-0. Just moments later, Ottawa was able to generate a breakaway and scored a goal to even the score at 1-1. Ava Campbell put a shot on goal after the Ottawa score, but a stop from the keeper kept Evangel at bay, as both teams took a 1-1 tie into the halftime break.

Evangel nearly had the go ahead goal on several different occasions in the second half. Makayla Myers and Sophia Weeks both had shots hit off the crossbar, while Ava Campbell put another shot on goal that was stopped by the Ottawa keeper. The Valor defense kept Ottawa's offense at bay and ultimately, time ran out on Evangel's chances to get a go ahead score, as they took a 1-1 draw with the Braves on Wednesday.

"I am so proud of and excited for our ladies as they made history today by securing their first ever postseason appearance in the KCAC and the first tournament appearance since 2020. Another exciting moment and milestone for the EUWSOC team!! All the credit to our players and all Glory to God!!"
