OTTAWA, Kan. – Valor Men's Soccer competed in their final regular season road match of the season on Wednesday (Oct. 30) afternoon, looking to take down the Ottawa Braves after falling in a pair of games. Despite Ottawa scoring a go ahead goal in the final three minutes of the match, the Valor did not back down, as Caleb Kuchta scored an equalizer just seconds later, as Evangel earned a 2-2 draw on Wednesday.
Evangel's offense came out quick and a strong pass from Igor Ovcarevic found Ruben Gonzalez who was racing towards the goal, burying a shot to give the Valor a 1-0 lead at just the 5:24 mark of the first half. Moritz Hofmeyer nearly put the Valor ahead by a pair of goals when his header hit off the post late in the half, but solid defense from the Valor kept Ottawa off the scoreboard in the first half, leading 1-0.
Ottawa scored to even the game at 1-1 at the 60 minute mark and Evangel continued to fight, putting shots up, but none of which were on goal. Ottawa scored at the 86:42 mark of the game, taking a 2-1 lead over Evangel, but the Valor did not back down as Caleb Kuchta scored an equalizer as the goalkeeper overplayed the ball, tying the score up at 2-2. Neither team could score a goal in the final two minutes, as Evangel fought to a draw, 2-2.
