SPRINGFIELD, Mo. – The Valor Volleyball team competes in their home opener this weekend, hosting the Evangel Quad and playing in three matches on their home court, beginning on Sept. 8th.
Evangel's weekend-opening matchup against the York Panthers begins at 2:30 p.m., and will be followed by a 7 p.m., contest against Briar Cliff University. The following day sees Evangel finish the weekend with a 11:30 a.m. contest with the William Woods Owls.

OPENING STORYLINES

Evangel went 1-3 last week at the CSM Labor Day Classic, falling to Mayville State, The Master's, and Briar Cliff, but defeating Governor's State.

Bella Wakley leads the team in kills so far this season, currently with 96.

Leah Jackson leads Evangel in assists with 147.

Sophomore Vivianna Sanchez leads the team with 27 blocks so far this year.

Freshman Jessica Pritchett has been a bright spot when serving, currently leading the team with 17 service aces.

The Valor are 2-0 all time against York and will look for their second win in program history over Briar Cliff, as they are 1-5 all-time. Evangel and William Woods will match up for their 58th time in program history, with Evangel trailing in the series, 27-30.

Evangel will travel to Columbia, Missouri, to take on the #14 Columbia College Cougars next Tuesday (Sept. 12) evening at 7:00 p.m.
