HILLSBORO, Kan. – Valor Men's Soccer hit the road to take on the Tabor Bluejays on Saturday (Sept. 30) evening, looking to build off a strong win last weekend against the Bethany Swedes. Evangel and Tabor played a tight match on Saturday night, leading to a 0-0 tie after 90 minutes of regulation, giving the Valor their second tie of the season in conference play.

Evangel's Igor Ovcarevic recorded an early shot on goal in the first half, but the Tabor keeper recorded the save at the 3:24 mark of the game. This would be Evangel's lone shot of the first half, as the Valor and Bluejays fought over possession for the majority of the half. Although Tabor would outshoot EU in the first half, 3-1, both teams headed into the halftime break with a 0-0 tie.

The Valor offense ramped up their pressure in the second half as they were able to get a pair of opportunities in the half that would be stopped. The Valor defense played an exceptional second half, keeping Tabor from any real opportunities on goal. Evangel had an excellent chance in the final 20 seconds of the match. Lucas Arias put a shot on goal for the Valor that was blocked by the Tabor keeper, but Ted Okoroh found the rebound and put the ball in the back of the net for what was seemingly a game winner for the Valor, but a call of offsides was issued by the AR, taking the Valor's game winning goal away, as EU and Tabor played to a tie, 0-0.
