SPRINGFIELD, Mo. – The Evangel women's soccer team opens its 2023 campaign Saturday (Aug. 19) with a 7 p.m. non-conference match on the road against #20 John Brown.
The contest is the first of eight road matches for EU this fall and is the second consecutive season that the Valor women have opened their season against the Golden Eagles.

Evangel Women's Soccer will be opening its ninth season, both overall and under head coach Bruce Deaton, who has led EU to 46 victories since starting the program in 2015.

Senior forward Dajah Boykin is EU's top returning scorer after recording four goals last fall.

This is Evangel's first road season opener against a ranked opponent.

The Valor return their starting goalkeeper from last season, Chloe Hancock, who recorded 126 saves in goal in 2022, ranking in the NAIA's top ten for saves.

Evangel is 0-2 against John Brown all time, falling last season in their home opener, 5-1.
