SPRINGFIELD, Mo. – Evangel University athletic director Dr. Dennis McDonald announced the hiring of Richelle Washington as Evangel's new head cheer coach on Wednesday.

Washington joins the Valor athletic department for the 2023-24 season after coaching Cheer and serving as a Paraprofessional at Neosho Junior High School. Richelle earned her bachelor's degree in psychology in 2022 from Missouri Southern State University and is in the process of earning her master's degree from Walden University in school counseling.

"We are very pleased to add Richelle to our head coaching staff," McDonald stated. "She is fully committed to our mission to influence our student-athletes to become strong Christian leaders, outstanding students and to excel in sports. We welcome Richelle to our Valor family!"
