SPRINGFIELD, Mo. – After a standout career as a member of the Evangel University women's basketball team, NaTasha Neal Moore is set to be honored on Wednesday (Dec. 13) afternoon by being inducted into the Missouri Sports Hall of Fame.
Moore was a four-year starter at Evangel from 2001 to 2005 and a four-time Heart of America all-conference performer. She was the HAAC Freshman of the Year in 2002, and the league's Player of the Year every season the duration of her career. Moore was an NAIA All-American each of her four seasons and an Academic All-American twice.
She ended her Evangel career second all-time in points scored with 2,654, and was in the top five in career rebounds and assists. She owns the school record for career three-pointers made with 317.
Moore's Evangel teams won conference championships in each of her four years, going a combined 74-6 in conference play and 118-30 overall. Her teams never lost a conference tournament game, going 12-0 in four seasons. Moore led Evangel to four NAIA-II national tournament appearances in her career going 4-0 in the opening round, advancing to three quarterfinals and the 2005 NAIA Division II semifinals.
The Missouri Sports Hall of Fame also are set to honor two Evangel men's basketball standouts in the Filbert Five, Spud Harbour (2007-2011) and Byron Looney (1979-1983).
After a strong high school career at Glendale in Springfield, Harbour joined the Evangel basketball team, finishing his career at EU amongst the top players all-time. Harbour is currently 12th all time in points scored with 1,618 and 8th all time in three point makes with 190. Harbour was also named an NAIA All-American in 2009-10.
Looney joined the Evangel basketball program after competing in high school at Central, here in Springfield. Looney is currently 37th in Evangel history in assists with 205. Looney was also an honorable mention NAIA all-district player in 1982-83.
