SPRINGFIELD, Mo. – After grabbing the second victory of their season on Friday against Saint Mary, Valor Women's Soccer took care of business on Tuesday night, shutting out the Royals, 9-0. 

Evangel quickly got on the scoreboard just seven minutes into the game on a Dajah Boykin goal, her second of the season, assisted by McKinley Yoder. After numerous shot opportunities, EU scored another goal off a nice pass from Kylee McKay and goal by Taylor Collins, her second of the year. Just five minutes later, Collins recorded her third goal of the season, giving Evangel a 3-0 lead. At the 39 minute mark, Evangel capped off their first half scoring with a goal by Reese Hertel, her second of the season.

The Valor would not be denied in the second half when just a minute and a half into the period, Madelynn Keith scored her first goal of the year on a LoriAnn McClellan pass. Two shots and 11 minutes later, Haven Stanley put in goal number six for the Valor on a pass from Dominique Webster. After continuing the offensive pace, Evangel scored another goal from Anna Krueger, her second of the year. The Valor would score two more goals, one by McClellan and another by Webster, capping off the game and giving EU the 9-0 victory over the Royals.

HIGHLIGHTS

• Five Valor athletes scored their first goal of the season in the 9-0 victory.

• All four goalkeepers on the Valor roster recorded minutes in goal in the win.

• Evangel broke their school season record with 58 shots total against the Royals.
