LAMONI, Iowa – After a Friday night sweep of Peru State, Evangel traveled two and a half hours east to take on the Yellowjackets of Graceland. Long travel did not slow the Valor offense down from Friday's win as Evangel swept Graceland, 3-0, on Saturday afternoon.

Evangel trailed for the first half of set one, but a service error and two consecutive blocks by Vivianna Sanchez gave the Valor a 14-12 lead. After a strong kill by Rylie Morrison off a feed from Sydney Dunavant, Evangel went on an 8-2 run that decided the set, 25-17. The beginning of set two was highlighted by strong service from Sharayah Seymour. The freshman helped spark a Valor 10-0 run, racking off four service aces in the run and gave EU a 10-1 lead. The Valor maintained the cushion for the majority of the set and claimed a 25-17 victory in set two. Graceland controlled the first half of the third set, by keeping a small lead over the Valor. Trailing 16-14, Evangel's offense found their footing and used a 9-2 run, fueled by kills from Morrison, Lizibeth Marler, and Seymour, to take a lead that they would push to the victory, 25-22, giving EU their second pair of consecutive wins this season. 

HIGHLIGHTS

• Ciera Reyes led the Valor with a team high of 11 kills.

• Leah Jackson led the team with 21 assists in the game.

• Eryn Russell finished with 11 digs in the victory over Graceland.

• Sanchez finished with five total blocks in the win.

• Seymour finished with five service aces against Graceland, her third game this season with five or more service aces.
