Atchison, Kan. – The Evangel volleyball team dropped their first road conference match of the season to Benedictine, 3-1, snapping a 4 game winning streak.
EU began the game slowly and were not able to stop the Ravens and their attacking percentage of .312, dropping the first set, 25-16. In the second set, EU still struggled to find a good attack and fell to the Ravens, 25-19. By the end of the second set, EU had only amassed a hitting percentage of .164. EU began to turn the tide in the third set, hitting a game high 17 kills with only two attacking errors to take the set from Benedictine, 26-24. Unfortunately, EU could only muster the win in one set, as Benedictine pulled away with two 4-0 runs and two 3-0 runs in the fourth, taking the set and match, 3-1.

Evangel will face off in the Ashcroft Center against NAIA ranked No. 6 Park (Mo.) on Friday night at 7 p.m., and will play at home against MidAmerica Nazarene (Kan.) on Saturday afternoon at 2 p.m.
