SPRINGFIELD, Mo. – Behind another strong performance by its defense, the Evangel women's soccer team improved to 3-1 on the season with a 1-0 blanking of Saint Mary Wednesday evening at Coryell Field.
Madison Maher scored the lone goal of the night midway through the opening half, and Abbey Schmidt turned away all six of the Spires' shots on goal to close out the third shutout victory for EU in four outings this season.
