SILOAM SPRINGS, Ark. – The Evangel men's tennis team dropped a 7-0 decision to John Brown University Monday afternoon at the JBU Tennis Courts.
Evangel (3-9) fell in all three of its doubles matches to the Golden Eagles, who picked up wins from Hudson Dick/Cade Cox (6-2), Sam Spencer/Mitchell Berry (6-3) and Woody Woodring/Logan Wheeler (6-1) to establish the early advantage.
JBU continued its strong performance on the singles side, claiming all six matches in straight sets. Spencer edged James McIlwraith (6-3, 6-3), before Cox topped Daryl Wong (6-3, 6-2), Wheeler knocked off Sam Coryell (6-1, 6-1), Woodring defeated Jarrett Teel (6-3, 6-3), Berry got past Devin Stone (6-1, 6-0) and Blake Cunningham bested Luke Carpenter (6-2, 6-2).
