SPRINGFIELD, Mo. – The Evangel men's tennis squad suffered a 7-0 setback against Bethel College Saturday in the Crusaders' spring debut at Cooper Tennis Complex.

The Crusaders dropped their three doubles matches, with Bethel getting wins from Michael Cech/Nolan Schrader over James McIlwraith/Sam Coryell (6-0), Milan Bucek/Jordan Singe against Daryl Wong/Devin Stone (6-1) and Zachary Shima/Tomas Quercia over Jon Deroo/Jordan Letterman (6-0) to earn the point.

On the singles side of the competition, Bethel notched wins in each of their six matches as well. Michael Cech (6-4, 6-2), Milan Bucek (6-2, 6-2), Nolan Schrader (6-1, 6-2), Tomas Quercia (6-0, 6-2), Zachary Shima (6-0, 6-0) and Joaquin Pluis (6-1, 6-1) each posted straight-sets victories to propel the Threshers to victory.
