SPRINGFIELD, Mo. – Culver-Stockton unleashed an early scoring blitz on Evangel, scoring three times in the first 12 minutes of play en route to a 6-0 victory over the Valor Saturday afternoon in Heart of America Athletic Conference action at Coryell Field.
Montse Caparros recorded a hat trick for the match, while Belle Arande scored a pair of goals off the Wildcat bench in the opening half. Jody Ellis assisted on three of Culver's six goals.
Highlights
- Kirstin Jannin opened the scoring for Culver with a goal in the fifth minute off of the first of Ellis's three assists
- Caparros tallied her first goal less than three minutes later, then added a pair of second-half goals to help extend the Wildcat lead
- Ellis assisted on each of Arande's goals to finish the first-half scoring
- C-SC out-shot the Valor by a 14-2 margin in the opening half, then totaled eight more attempts in the first 15 minutes of the second stanza before lightning stopped play with just over 30 minutes left on the clock
- The Wildcats finished with 13 shots on goal, while preventing EU from registering a single shot on goal
- Abbey Schmidt recorded six saves for EU in goal
