Fayette, Mo. – After dropping a tough matchup earlier in the week to Baker, the Valor were short handed in their matchup with NAIA ranked No. 11 Central Methodist and fought hard, but ultimately fell, 3-1.
The Valor began the night without their 2nd and 3rd leading attackers, Daisy Eklund and Bridget Petersen. To make up for their loss, EU displayed excellent team play to take a set from a top-15 NAIA ranked team. The first set saw EU post a game high .405 attacking percentage with 20 kills and only 3 errors, but ultimately CMU took the set, 25-23. The second set was a step back for the EU attack as they hit a collective .206 to CMU's .324, losing the set 25-17. In the third set, good team play and long rally wins by the Valor allowed them to take a set from the NAIA ranked team, 25-23. Unfortunately, in the fourth and final set, EU hurt themselves with an attacking percentage of -.024 that allowed the Eagles to take the last set, 25-18.
