SPRINGFIELD, Mo. – Alyson Reinold's second goal of the night with 8:03 left in the second overtime period propelled the Evangel women's soccer team to a 3-2 victory over Heart Conference-leading Baker Monday evening at Coryell Field.

Reinold's free kick from 40 yards out caught nothing but net for the game-winner, following a frenzied finish to regulation that saw the two teams trade goals within 12 seconds of each other in the contest's 85th minute.

"What an incredible win for the ladies this evening," head coach Bruce Deaton said. "They dug deep and truly stepped up to another level of play to earn that result. We scored three beautiful goals—Bianca's second-half goal was special and Alyson's overtime winner on the free kick was ESPN Top 10 worthy. I am so proud of this team!"

Reinold put EU on top by burying the first shot of the night, just two minutes and twenty-five seconds into the match. The Crusader defense would make the 1-0 advantage stand until the 56th minute when Anna Chieu redirected a deflection past EU goalie Abbey Schmidt to knot the score at 1-1.

Heart leading scorer Bianca Biffert angled a shot from 15 yards out past Vanessa Silva with 5:14 left on the clock for her 17th goal of the season and a 2-1 EU lead. But Haleigh Harris answered with a BU goal only 12 seconds later after slipping free and beating Schmidt to make a 2-2 contest.

After a scoreless overtime period, Reinold took advantage of a Wildcat yellow card early in the second extra frame to hook a looping shot beyond the reach of Silva for the golden goal that set off a jubilant celebration near midfield.

Each team recorded 21 shots in the match, with the Wildcats putting nine on goal to the Crusaders eight. Schmidt registered seven saves, while Silva ended the night with five.

Reinold accounted for eight of EU's 21 shots, while Biffert logged five shots.
