FAYETTE, Mo. - The Evangel women's soccer team was shutout by Central Methodist 6-0 on Wednesday night.
The Crusaders were able to stay in the game and hold the Eagles to just one goal in the first half, but the Eagles came out on a different level in the second half and the Crusaders weren't able to continue at the high pace.
"Tonight, especially in that second half, we ran into an opponent that played at a whole other level. We were in a good position at halftime but just were not able to match their play in the second half. And while there are quality teams throughout our conference, I feel like they have been the best team we have faced thus far in the season," Head Coach Bruce Deaton remarked following the contest.
Evangel registered two shots and one goal. One came from Madison Maher and the other from Bianca Biffert.
Abbey Schmidt minded the net for Evangel. She had six saves and allowed six goals.
