SPRINGFIELD, Mo – Evangel swept its Saturday slate at the Evangel Classic. 

Game 1: Evangel 3, College of the Ozarks 1

Evangel was ready for their rematch with the Bobcats, one of the two losses for the Crusaders. The two split the first two sets, and then the Crusaders dug deep and ground out a win.

Bridget Petersen led the Crusaders on the offensive with 14 kills, followed by Tori Lowry and Daisy Eklund with 12. McKenna Miller had 45 assists.

Defensively, Eryn Russell had 29 digs, Miller had 20, Lowry had 16, and Sydney Dunavant had 12.  Regan Ansley had five blocks and Petersen, Lowry, and Eklund all with three.

Game 2: Evangel 3, Williams Baptist 0

The Crusaders continued their hot hitting in the second game of the day, hitting .245.

Lowry led the team offensively with 12 kills and Petersen had 11. Miller had 30 assists in the match.

Defensively, Shannon Collins had 20 digs and Lowry had 10.  

What's Next

Evangel will continue Heart of America play when they host Missouri Valley in the Ashcroft Center on Tuesday, Sept. 10 at 7 p.m.
