SPRINGFIELD, Mo. -- The Evangel volleyball team wasted little time Tuesday night in a 3-0 sweep of non-conference foe William Woods.

The Crusaders quickly took the first set before the Owls tried to comeback in the second set. However, Evangel powered past the visitors thanks to a .407 hitting percentage to sweep William Woods.

Tori Lowry led the way offensively with 12 kills and a .344 hitting percentage and added 16 digs to earn a double-double. The sophomore had just one error on 32 attempts in the match, while teammate Regan Ansley finished with 11 kills and a .435 hitting percentage. 

Victoria Fishback tallied 16 assists and McKenna Miller added 14 on the offensive side of the net to pace the Crusaders.

Eryn Russell led the way defensively with 20 digs, while Kristen Johnson recorded two blocks.

UP NEXT
Evangel returns to conference play on Friday with a road trip to Iowa. The Crusaders face the Clarke Pride on Friday before heading to Mount Mercy on Saturday.
