SPRINGFIELD, Mo. – The Evangel volleyball teams dominated their home court Friday with a pair of 3-0 sweeps over Lyon College and Tabor College on day one of the Crusader Classic.

Game One
Evangel dominated from the start with a three-set sweep of Lyon College. The Crusaders posted hitting percentages over .340 in two of the sets and only committed 14 total errors in the match.

Heather Gahm paced the Crusaders with 12 kills as Bridget Petersen added 11 kills and a .400 hitting percentage. Victoria Fishback paced the attack with 32 assists in the win.

The defense held solid with Jorden Stacey finishing with 20 digs while Makayla Stephen and Eryn Russell each added seven digs.

Game Two
The nightcap of the tournament saw more hot hitting from Evangel with a 3-0 sweep of Tabor College. The Crusaders hit .267 as a team which included three players with double-figure kills.

Heather Gahm again led Evangel with 15 kills and a .393 hitting percentage. Petersen and Finkbiner also finished with double-figure kills with 10 and 11 respectively.

Gahm and Petersen also played a role at the net as both players added five blocks each in the win. Stacey added 20 digs, while Eryn Russel added 12 digs and Hailey Noblitt tallied 13 for the Crusaders.

Jessanna Nebel led the Blue Jays with 17 kills in the loss.
