SPRINGFIELD, Mo. – A trio of goals from Amber Ellis in the second half helped give the Evangel women's soccer team a 6-0 win over Bacone in the final non-conference match.
The Crusaders jumped out to an early 2-0 lead in the first half with goals from Brooke Todd and Alyson Reinold. The goal was the third of the season for Todd and gave Reinold her third goal of the year before scoring her fourth later in the second half.
Early in the second half, Ellis scored the first of three goals including two less than a minute apart. The first goal came in the 50th minute as did the second giving Evangel a 4-0 lead. The third goal came 19 seconds later on a breakaway in the 51st minute to push the Crusader advantage to 5-0.
Reinold would score her second goal of the match in the 75th minute off a pass from Shannon Vickery.
Evangel dominated the offensive side of the field with 39 shots and 22 shots on goal. The Warriors saw two goalkeepers in net as Jordyn Moore finished with ten saves in 57 minutes and Daphne Harvey tallied six saves.
Josie Gregory earned a save in her only chance as Charlsey Seidel played the final 31 minutes.

Evangel takes a week off before the start of Heart play next Saturday. The Crusaders travel to William Penn, Saturday, Sept. 16 for a 2 p.m. start.
