SPRINGFIELD, Mo. – A trio of early goals was too much for the Evangel women's soccer team to overcome Saturday falling, 3-1, to Graceland in conference action.

The Crusaders rebounded in the second half after a slow start in the first game of a four-game homestand.

Graceland scored the game's first goal just 1:34 into the match when Megan Kimrey stole an Evangel pass and pushed the ball past the goalkeeper. The Yellowjackets would hold a one-goal lead until just before the half when they added a pair of goals in the 30th minute and the 41st minute to lead 3-0.

Evangel got on the board when Kennedy Strain drilled a beautiful ball into the upper right corner in the 51st minute. The goal was the first of the season for Strain.

Josie Gregory finished with four saves in the first half, and Caitlyn Cox earned eight saves in net.
