PERU, Neb. – The Evangel volleyball team shook off a slow start and knocked off Peru State, 3-2, Saturday in conference volleyball play.

The Crusaders dropped the first set, before coming back to take sets two and three. However, after losing the fourth set, Evangel was able to overcome the Bobcats on the road for a 15-13 win in the fifth set.

Olivia Johnston and Heather Gahm posted 14 kills each as Johnston added a 1.46 hitting percentage.

Evangel was solid again on the defensive side of the net with eight blocks including five from Bridget Petersen. Jorden Stacey tallied 45 digs on the defensive side of the net as well.

Victoria Fishback recorded a double-double adding 46 assists and 16 digs for the Crusaders.
