SPRINGFIELD, Mo. – The first conference win for the Evangel volleyball team came away with an impressive win Friday night, 3-0, over Baker in Heart of America Athletic Conference action.

The Crusaders were able to keep the Wildcats at arm's length most of the match with a 25-20, 25-20, 25-18 win in three sets.

Offensively, Evangel was led by a career-high from Heather Gahm who tallied 16 kills and a .333 hitting percentage. Ayona Tharps also finished in double figures with ten kills as she added seven digs.

Victoria Fishback helped pace the offense with 32 assists while adding eight digs.

Jorden Stacey led Evangel with 28 digs as Bridget Petersen posted two blocks on the defensive side of the net.

Evangel quickly returns to action Saturday afternoon at the Ashcroft Center in a Heart of America match against Benedictine. First serve is scheduled for 1 p.m.
