BALDWIN CITY, Kan. – The Evangel volleyball team dropped a three-set match at Baker Friday night in Heart of America Athletic Conference action.

The Crusaders were swept by the Wildcats Tuesday after beating Baker, 3-0, in September during the first meeting between the teams. After struggling on Tuesday night offensively, Evangel was able to steady its hitting finishing with just one error in the first set.

However, the Wildcats posted 14.5 blocks to stop the Crusader offense.

Evangel was led by Bridget Petersen and Olivia Johnston finishing with eight kills each. Petersen finished with a .333 hitting percentage as Johnston added seven digs.

Baker got an impressive defensive performance from Olivia Brees who posted 10 blocks.

Evangel continues action in Kansas Saturday at Benedictine. The Crusaders continue to push for a spot in the Heart tournament in Atchison, Kansas, with first serve scheduled for 1 p.m.
