POINT LOOKOUT, Mo. – The Evangel volleyball team was unable to hang on to an early lead Tuesday night falling 3-1 at College of the Ozarks at Keeter Gymnasium.

Evangel jumped out to an early lead taking the first set 26-24. However, the Bobcats rallied back to a 25-17, 25-21 and 26-24 victory.

Both teams struggled offensively in the match hitting below the .200 mark. On the defensive side of the net is where both teams stood out as the Crusaders finished with five blocks and the Bobcats tallied 15.

The Crusaders were led by Heather Gahm who tallied a match-high 16 kills in the loss. Bridget Petersen and Olivia Johnston each posted double-doubles with 12 kills each as Johnston added 18 digs and Petersen finished with 10.

Jorden Stacey led Evangel defensively with 38 digs as Victoria Fishback posted 44 assists.

UP NEXT
Evangel returns to conference action heading to Baker on Friday and Benedictine on Saturday. First serve is scheduled for 7 p.m. against the Wildcats on Friday night.
