KANSAS CITY, Mo. – The Evangel University women's soccer team was shutout Tuesday afternoon, 3-0, at Avila in Heart Conference action. 

The Eagles scored a goal late in the first half when Autumn Saulsbury gave Avila a 1-0 lead in the 33rd minute. Avila would take that lead into halftime before breaking the game open in the second half. 

Evangel managed just two shots in the second half as Avila finished with eight. The Eagles tallied 16 total shots in the match as their second goal came in the 70th minute from Sydney James. Avila added a third goal just six minutes later to seal the win. 

Crusader goalkeeper Josie Gregory finished with seven saves in the loss for Evangel.

INSIDE THE BOX SCORE                     
- Evangel was shutout for the fourth time this season and for a second straight match.

- The Crusaders finished with five total shots in the match their most since recording eight against Fontbonne on Sept. 20.

- After starting the season 3-0, the Crusaders have lost their last six matches.
