ATICHSON, Kan. – An early lead by Benedictine proved too much for the Evangel women's soccer team to overcome Saturday evening falling 5-0 in the regular season finale. 

The Crusaders were shutout Saturday by the Ravens who limited Evangel to just two shots in the first half. 

Abbie Hair scored goals in the 29th and 33rd minutes for Benedictine to give the hosts a 2-0 lead. The third goal from Sydney Routh pushed the Ravens lead to 3-0 at halftime before Hair finished off a hat trick in the second half. 

Evangel's goalkeeper Josie Gregory recorded 10 saves in the loss with six coming in the second half.

Evangel ends its season at 5-13 overall and 1-11 in conference play. The second season of Crusader soccer marked huge improvements which included the first conference win over Clarke on Oct. 15. Not only did the program earn its first win in the season opener, Evangel started the season 3-0 before their first loss. 

However, the Crusaders rebounded with a win over NCAA Division III Louisiana College heading into conference play. The early season wins also produced the most goals scored in a game (7) and first shutout among numerous individual records. 

Evangel will graduate one senior, Lauren Zeh, who finishes her career with the Crusaders after the program's first two seasons.
