FAYETTE, Mo. – The Evangel University women's soccer team was shutout at Central Methodist, 3-0, Tuesday night in conference action.
The Crusaders were held without a shot in the first half as the Eagles found the back of the net in the 26th minute to take a 1-0 lead. Central Methodist would hold the lead the rest of the half as Luci Sauerbronn scored the goal for the Eagles.
The Eagles continued their offensive surge in the second period adding a goal from Kylie Thwing in the 66th minute and another goal in the 78th minute.
Evangel saw Josie Gregory play 54 minutes and recorded 14 saves while Caitlyn Cox entered the net for 35 minutes. Cox was charged with two goals and tallied 10 saves in the loss.
