Evangel tries to build off William Penn win: Evangel hosts Peru State on Monday in a Heart of America conference game at the Ashcroft Center. 

The Crusaders are coming off of a road win at fifth ranked William Penn 90-89 on Saturday. It was Evangel's third win of the season and snapped a 13-game winning streak by the Statesmen. Evangel is 3-12 and 2-5 in the conference. 

Peru State is 8-6 and 5-2 in the league. The Bobcats enter Monday alone in second place in the conference and are now one-game behind league leading William Penn. Peru State won Saturday defeating Missouri Valley 109-86 in Nebraska. 

Evangel has won eight of the nine meetings against Peru State all-time. The Crusaders won two of the three games in last year including a 66-65 win at the Ashcroft Center in the Heart of America tournament semifinals. 

Even though they are 3-12, Evangel owns a 2-1 record against ranked teams in NAIA-I after their win at William Penn.
