Springfield, Mo. – Evangel played their first game at home in 2015 and defeated College of the Ozarks 3-0 (25-15, 25-20, 25-11) in front of a packed house at Ashcroft Center on Tuesday.
The Crusaders ran their record to 10-0 and claimed their highest national ranking in program history with a number 11 ranking in the NAIA national coaches' poll released earlier in the day.
Senior outside hitter Haley Watson led the Crusaders with 15 kills in the three sets. Senior libero Morgan Smith added 18 digs and averaged six digs per set while senior outside hitter Micah Guiot added nine kills and four blocks in the win.
The Crusaders improved to 10-0 on the season and College of the Ozarks dropped to 2-7.
Evangel will be in action again this weekend when they play in the Evangel Tournament at the Courts in Springfield. The Crusaders will play Lindenwood-Belleville on Friday at 3:00pm and Cumberland (Tenn.) at 7:00pm.
