Women's soccer falls to #18 Baker

Baldwin City, Kan. – Evangel women's soccer fell to 18th-ranked Baker 5-0 on Wednesday night. 

Baker grabbed the lead early through a 25 yard strike from Keely Atkin in the 4th minute. The Wildcats doubled that lead six minutes later with Krista Hooper from 30 yards in the 10th minute. Evangel's best chance of the

game came in the 3rd minute, with Amanda Leckrone missing from 30 yards away. 

The Wildcats scored three more times in the second half. Atkin scored again in the 52nd minute, followed by a 60th minute goal from Megan Johnson. Jenna Carducci finished the scoring for Baker in the 67th minute. 

With the loss, Evangel's record drops to 0-7 and a 0-2 record in the Heart of America conference. Baker improved their record to 8-1 and 2-0 in the conference. 

Evangel next plays on Saturday, September 26th when they travel to Lamoni, Iowa for a 5:00pm conference kickoff against Graceland.
